Gaye Chapman
Gaye Chapman is a fine artist and children's illustrator of international standing. She has worked extensively as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, but is first and foremost a painter, with many solo exhibitions and fine art awards to her name. She first studied fine art at the National Art School Wollongong, and has PhD in Contemporary Art.

Gaye began illustrating for children in 1989. Her previous picture books include Heart of the Tiger, ( by Glenda Millard), short-listed for the 2006 Crichton Award by the Children's Book Council of Australia. Her book Kaito's Cloth, (also by Millard), was selected for the 2007 White Ravens Catalogue of Outstanding International Books for Children by the Internationale Jugend Bibliothek Germany, short-listed for the 2007 Queensland Premier's Literary Award, and published in Korea and the US. Her collaborative book Dust (by Colin Thompson and 13 other illustrators) is short listed for the 2008 Children's Book Council of Australia Picture Book of the Year Award. Little Blue is Gaye's eighth picture book.
