As a child Jenny entered every art competition, from sand modelling at Terrigal beach in the Christmas holidays, to the Sun-Herald children’s pages. She also dressed up in op-shop frilly nylon nighties and cheap wigs to playact the heroine in the fairy princess stories she wrote. Her prized possessions were a size 8 1960s wedding gown and tiara.
Jenny has worked for 13 years in advertising as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. In 2000 she made the leap into her first love, children’s book illustration. Frazzled Frogs was about frogs who learn to “slip, slap, slop” for the Cancer Council. Her next project was Animals, from the Double Delight series of flap books written by Mary Novick. Numerous Double Delight titles have followed, along with Nightingale Quest, a magical puzzle adventure. |
