| Hop, Little Hare!
|
 |
By
Margaret Wild and Peter Shaw
|
 |
Little Hare and Grandpa were good friends. They spent a lot of time together. Grandpa had aches and pains in his joints and could only hop slowly. As for Little Hare, he hadn’t yet learned how to hop.
So Grandpa went
hibble-hobble, hibble-hobble,
and Little Hare went
bump, bump, bump
on his bottom.
This warm tall tale of how Little Hare takes his first hop will delight the 3-7 age group and their parents—and especially their grandparents. Wild’s imaginative, affectionate text combined with Shaw’s charming watercolour illustrations will make this a book to treasure.
About the author and illustrator
Multi award-winning picture book writer Margaret Wild, well known for titles such as 2004 CBC Honour Book Little Humpty, Kiss, Kiss, Fox, Tom Goes to Kindergarten, Old Pig and Jenny Angel, is admired for her sensitive handling of difficult topics as well as her lively, playful texts for preschoolers.
Peter Shaw grew up in a small town in the north-eastern corner of Victoria, and spent most of his leisure hours on farms, rambling through the bush, and devouring the books of the local library. He went on to study graphic design at Swinburne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, where he learned to illustrate. He has since illustrated many educational books. This is his first trade picture book.
